The event started on 21th december 2016 (23th december on iOS) and will end on 12th january 2016.
It was announced with the following text:
Christmas Event
Commander, an urgent telegram! The headquarters sent some supplies for Christmas to reward us, but something has happened during the transportation. The supplies were transported by Galina, she is also missing!

The event does not come with new story or map but it introduces a new mechanic: In order to achieve the event, the player have to collect the new items by tapping them when they appear in a battle.
There are a total of 3 new resources to collect, each of these resources can only be collected 8 times and they only appear during a battle (a battle that is not in Clash modes or an exercice one). The ressources will keep to show even if the player misses one in a battle until he collects 8 of them.
